Obituary of Elwin H. Lord

NORTHPORT Elwin H. Lord, Sr., 74, of Northport, passed away on August 11, 2017. He was born July 19, 1943 to Roderick and Alwilda (Ames) Lord Norwood in Walpole, New Hampshire. He graduated from Camden High School in 1962. He was happily married to Betty (Leland) Lord on November 8, 1964. He worked as a Marine Mechanic Technician for 60 years. Elwin was predeceased by his parents. He was also predeceased by his son, Elwin "Skip" H. Lord, Jr. He is survived by his wife Betty; his daughter Dianna M. Lord and her companion Vern Poppe; his son Roderick F. Lord and his wife Sarah; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Elaine Niles and her husband Richard; sister-in-law Helen Ludwig and her husband Raymond "Bud"; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 27th from 2-4 p.m. at the Lord residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to local hospice or Sussman House.
