Marguerite was such a special woman to know. She had such a sense of community and consistently showed it, even as it dwindles in the world today. Anyone in a service position in the town of Searsport received a batch of homemade peanut butter fudge every Christmas as a thank you for all they do. She decorated the community room for holidays in the apartment building she lived in for every holiday even as she lived into her 90s. She had so much spunk and never wasted a moment. Even when I got the chance to visit this passed Christmas when I was in town she was the epitome of hospitable; offering my husband a piece of the ever famous Christmas fudge, swooning over my 5 month old and just as sharp as I ever remember, reciting facts from her "little black book". She taught me to crochet, she taught me about patience, and she taught me a sense of community and to care for those around me. She was a woman of great faith and a pillar of morality. The town of Searsport was so incredibly lucky to have her in their community and I was even more lucky to have her as a role model.

Marguerite. Will miss you more than words can say. I was so very blessed to have known you. Your such a special person. Always thinking of others and doing for others. Lucille and myself enjoyed those cup of tea we shared with your home cooked goodies. I always looked forward to visiting you. You will always have a place in my heart. Love Grace Dodge & Lucille Grant

Auntie...that's what we called you. Always so vibrant, energetic and playful. Many a summer and Christmas were celebrated out on the Cape. Jody and I were so pleased to reconnect with you over the last year or so. We only wish that we could've hugged you in person again. We were planning on driving up from Connecticut in September to see you...and this we will do.
