In a few months the calendar will mark the date that will memorialize the 20th year that Kai King Gates has been in my life, and because Kai was in my life -- he will always be in my life. It is as simple and as beautiful as that! It is the nature of a tried, true and tested friendship. Forgetting Kai would be impossible, understanding him was an endless wonder and appreciating the man was as inviting and as natural as walk in Muir Woods; near where he was born. My heart goes out to his special family and they do not need a reminder from me. But I am privileged to have been a witness to the unwavering devotion he has always kept for the people closest to him and those who have never had someone like Kai in their world; lives a lesser life!
