Obituary of Edith M Seekins

BELFAST – Edith M. (Brassbridge) Seekins, 96, of Belfast, passed away on July 25, 2017. Edith was born in Frankfort to Willard and Esther (Knowlton) Brassbridge on June 30, 1921. She married Earl T. Seekins at the age of 18 and moved to Searsport, where she lived for most of her life. She enjoyed crocheting doilies, tending her flower gardens, and farming the family’s crops, followed by canning their bounty. Edith was predeceased by her husband Earl T. Seekins; son Richard E. Seekins; grandsons: Earl R Seekins and Travis W. Seekins; brothers: Kenneth, Arthur, Lawrence, and Sewall Brassbridge; sisters: Gertrude Brassbridge and Rosie Rowell. She leaves behind her daughter-in-law Maxine; grandson Eric Seekins and his wife Jennifer; great-grandchildren Kaitlin and Samuel Seekins; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins of varying generations. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 28th at 11am at Greenlawn Cemetery in Swanville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edith’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research.
