Coach is respected and hands down, the best. I will miss seeing him at the sporting events, and around town. When my brother was wrestling, coach would stay calm, even as my mother would be on the sideline in hysterics. I think she was more concern for him than his wrestlers! For years, we spent time watching coach, as he coached my brother to the states. His presence was looked for and a delight. He is missed already.

Such a great coach and mentor for so many kids. You grow up fast on a wrestling mat where there is no place to hide. Will always remember him for his humor, high standards, and competitive drive. I trace my best memories of high school back to him and his coaching. Jeff Ames

Really good memories of my wrestling coach as an exchange student - 1968 -69. My favorite winter sport was speed skating - not much chance in Belfast, but Ted learned me a few moves in wrestling and the fact that all those short muscle men attacked my long thin legs - and wrestling with the legs of a skater was all I needed for half Nelson and pinning - Gave me happy memories of a sport I enjoyed in few months. I am now for 3 months in Paris -at Institute Curie, next to Pantheon, keeping up with my trade working in Oslo - at the University - my sincere condolences. Oddmund (Bakke) living with the Mardens, class of 69..

Awesome man, coach, and person..soo many memories ...football coach, shop teacher, wrestling coach in school..his famous "short cuts on wrestling trips that usually got us lost..or late..helping him coach was a privilege and honor...one of my funniest memories was a few years ago we were coming back from Sanford and stopped the bus in Augusta for food.. he went to KFC for chicken and upon returning to the bus with not one , but two buckets of he got stuck in the snow bank..not willing to put the chicken down hollering for me or Neal to help him....good times ..I will miss him..so sorry for the families loss.
