Obituary of Ruth E Weston

Monroe: Ruth E. Weston went into the arms of the Lord and on to Glory, February 3, 2017 at Bangor Nursing and Rehab Center, Bangor, ME. She was born October 5 1928 in Boston MA, the daughter of Nelson D. Weston and Carrie (Price) Mueller. She was predeceased by her Father, Mother, step father Walter Mueller, brother Russell L. Weston and sister Helen J. Otto. (Willie) and all her very loved kitty cats. She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Larry Otto (MA), Ruth Caron (NH), Danny Otto (MA), Paula Perrotti (MA), Lorraine Ermer (NH), Linda Hall (MS), Barbara Ahlemeier (TX), Karen Willis (MA), Russell Weston (MA), all their spouses and many great nieces and nephews. Along with The Sisters of Grace and Hope Mission, her Church family, The Moody’s, and friends she made along the way. Ruth really loved the Lord and his people. While growing up during the depression and moving around a lot wasn’t easy, she made the best of it. Her life experiences made a great testimony for the Lord and what he can do. She was a story teller, and writer, she played the piano, trumpet, and many stringed instruments. She was converted April 6, 1941 at Grace & Hope Mission, Boston, MA. Then Baptized April 13, 1941 at Jamaica Plain Baptist Church, Jamaica Plain. Called to serve July 5, 1946 Rosedale Camp in PA. July 8, 1947 she began her full time service at Grace & Hope Mission in Scranton, PA. Ordained May 8, 1949 in Buffalo, NY. Ruth worked at missions in Philadelphia, New York City, Reading, PA, and Baltimore MD as her last mission of service. Still up until her death a contributing writer to the Children’s Corner in the quarterly publication of G&H. In 1982 Ruth returned to Monroe to care for her failing Mother, working each day towards her salvation, which she was happy to report happened in 1997 when her Mother gave her heart to the Lord. Ruth loved to garden, keep her kitty’s happy, read, talk on the phone, and correspond with family and friends along with read her daily devotions and pray for others from her little trailer in the woods given to her by many friends of the church. As of late Ruth was in Winthrop at Winthrop Manor and later became a resident of Bangor Nursing and Rehab Center. Even from her bed and in pain she always wanted to know about you, and spread the gospel. Thank you to all for the care and fellowship shown. All the people of Beacon Hospice and their volunteers. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be on February 18, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Lighthouse Bible Church 86 Prospect St. Searsport, ME. A spring committal will be May 26, at 2 p.m. at Monroe Village Cemetery in Monroe. Memorial donations can be sent to Grace and Hope Mission, INC 4 S.
