Obituary of Sylvia Estelle Anderson

Sylvia Anderson, 82, passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 1, 2017 at The Knox Center in Rockland. Born and raised in Freedom to the late Wilmarth and Therese Ashe, she once worked at Fort Halifax Poultry Plant in Winslow. Sylvia was a member of the Freedom Ladies Auxiliary, loved playing Bingo, was known to make pillows for those she loved, and cared for 8 foster children. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband Charles who passed away in 1999; her sister Irene; her brother Warren and her grandson Scott Anderson Jr. Surviving are her loving children, Scott Anderson and his wife Dyann of Freedom, Steven Anderson and his wife Denise also of Freedom, Irene Raven and her husband Jason of Brooks and Diane Kaufmann and her husband William of Albion; her grandchildren, Amanda, Brittney, Brooke, Dylan, Isaac, Ava, Joseph, Silas, Tanya and Joshua; her 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family and friends may gather at the Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, ME 04915 on Friday February 10, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM for visiting hours.
