Obituary of Eleanor M. Tibbetts

ELEANOR M. TIBBETTS, 87 of Jackson, passed away on November 8, 2016 in Bangor. She was born November 27, 1928 in St. Albans, Maine, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Downs) Brewer. After marrying her husband, Hank, in 1946 they settled in Jackson and started their family. She was the town clerk of Jackson for 24 years. Eleanor worked in the kitchen cooking for fairs and community events in her town which she enjoyed very much. Her family remembers her as a talented homemaker and caregiver for her children and foster children. She is predeceased by her parents; a sister and her husband Odber “Hank” Tibbetts. Eleanor is survived by her children, Harold of Jackson, Hazen of Winterport, Mark of Jackson and Priscilla Peabody of Thorndike; her foster children, Eddie of New Hampshire, Dana and Douglas both of Jackson; Maxine Schneider of South Carolina and Fay Rowell of New Hampshire; brother in law, Westly Tibbetts of Belfast and sister in law Ethel Tibbetts of Unity; six grandchildren; 3 foster grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside interment will be held on November 19, 2016 at 1pm at Jackson Corner Cemetery with a gathering to follow at Jackson Community Center. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast.
