Obituary of Geraldine Marie Dunphy

Geraldine Marie Dunphy, 75, passed away at her home on July 23, 2016. Born March 8, 1941 in Belfast, ME to Hartley K. Fraser and Marie Ellen Russ Fraser; she grew up in Stockton Springs. She attended and graduated from the Stockton Springs High School and then graduated from cosmetology school. Geraldine owned and operated a beauty shop in Unity and Brooks. She retired from The University of Maine Cooperative Extension as a nutritional aide. Geraldine married Augustus A. Dunphy and together they had 3 children, Ellen Marie, Kirk Arthur and Monty Allen. They lived in Pittsfield and for the last 40 years they lived in Brooks. She enjoyed singing, playing guitar and traveling with family and friends. In her later life, she spent time on the computer making friends and traveling all over the world to visit with them and them to her. They became her chat room family. Mrs. Dunphy was predeceased by her parents; her husband Augustus; her young son Kirk Arthur; her sister and her two brothers. She is survived by her daughter Ellen Trundy and her husband Warren of Minot; her son Monty Dunphy and his partner Kathy of Jackson; her six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, six brothers and one sister and many other family members and close friends. There will be a celebration of life at Geraldine’s home on August 6, 2016 at 1:00 PM.
