Obituary of Nicholas Borodko

Prospect, Maine - Nicholas Borodko, age 66, of Prospect, Maine, died unexpectedly at home amid many health struggles on August 10, 2026. He was born in Belfast, Maine, to Dolores (Joler) and Stanley J. Borodko, and was raised in Searsport, Rockland, and Orono, Maine.

Nick graduated from Orono High School, and he competed in varsity football and track and field. During high school he was trained as a first responder and at the time was the youngest member of the Orono Rescue Squad. He served for several years in the Maine Army National Guard as a medic and instructor. Following that he worked as a licensed practical nurse in the emergency room at Eastern Maine Medical Center. He earned a bachelor's degree in physical therapy from the University of New England and worked as a physical therapist in both California and Oregon. He also trained and became a black belt in Cuong Nhu. Nick returned to Maine several years ago and spent time volunteering in different health-related organizations.

Nick was a proud son, father, and grandfather. He was also a loyal, compassionate relative and friend who truly enjoyed helping others. He appreciated good conversation, to which he contributed a keen sense of humor. He was a music fan with varied tastes, a talented amateur photographer, and he preferred spending as much time as possible outdoors especially at the family camp hunting and trailblazing with his dad and siblings. He also loved volunteering with the Orono Kiwanis, as well as ushering many UMO hockey and football games. He was a skilled gardener who found joy in preparing food for others.

Nick was predeceased by his mother, Dolores Borodko; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his daughter, Tracie Davis and son-in-law, Adam Davis; and grandchildren, Madison, Jacoby, Josiah, and Joshua. He also is survived by his father, Stanley J. Borodko; brother, Simon; sisters, Lorena Lane (Lee), Lucia Picard (Matthew), Katherine Kingsbury (Paul), and Jennie Barnes; several nieces and nephews; former wife, Bonnie Borodko of Oregon, and former wife Diane Craig of Billings Montant, and good friend Steve Bonin, who both offered friendship and much-appreciated support to Nick in recent years. A special thank you to Abigail and Joseph Dickinson, who helped Nick with many projects throughout the last few months.
