Dear Aunt Evelyn,
Although it has been over 12 years since you went home to our Lord, I think of you everyday. Your love never ceased and your smile never faded.
Remember the time you and Aunt Gladys came to CA and you stayed with my Mom Gertrude? I was my Mom’s USPS mailman and you ladies would feed me a quick lunch when I reached her address? Somewhere in your photos you have a picture of me standing on the steps of my postal truck.
Before you and Aunt Gladys left to return to Maine, Alfred and I took you all to Reno where we had dinner and soaked in the Nevada warmth and sagebrush.
After Mom passed, you sent me flowers every February 20th in honor of her going home with God. It help take the sting that never goes away when a beloved passed.. you made me feel so much better. I do miss talking to you.
You also made edible roses to be placed on our wedding cake. You are amazing.
These beautiful memories are but a drop in the bucket. I know all your family and friends have buckets of memories of you.
You loved God, family and friends deeper than any of us know. That’s who you are…a beautiful woman, beautiful soul and a worthy citizen of Heaven.
Alfred and I pray each day for your family and friends, whom we know think of you often throughout the days. We love you ever so much.
Rest well, my sweet Auntie. I will one day be reunited with you and what a glorious day that will be.
I love you!
