Obituary of Carleton O. Mitchell
Carleton O. Mitchell, 80 of Swanville, passed away on October 13, 2011 at home with his family. He was born on January 28, 1931 in New Limerick, Maine the son of Carl and Ella (Porter) Mitchell. Carleton worked at Pratt and Whitney for 37 years and continued to be a hard worker even after retirement. He loved to fish, going to Hollywood slots, going out to eat and doing karaoke with his family and friends. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Patriots.
He is predeceased by his first wife Edna (Maloon) Mitchell, and son Michael Mitchell. Carleton is survived by his wife Debra M. Mitchell of Swanville; his children Donna Kamineski and husband Frank of Swanville, Dianne Fairbrother of Connecticut, Steven Mitchell of Florida, step daughter Paulette Ronco from Las Vegas; siblings Ronnie Mtichell and wife Joyce of Belfast, Gary Mitchell and wife Daisy of Massachusetts, Jeanne Holmes of Belfast; mother in law Caroline Heroux of Belfast; brothers in law Ed Nickerson of New York, Roy Nickerson of Warren, Frank Nickerson of Lincolnville; sisters in law, Pam Nickerson of Belfast, Val Nickerson of Leeds; grandchildren Shawn Fairbrother, Amy Fairbrother, and Gina Mitchell all of Connecticut, Michael Mitchell, and Carl Mitchell of Maine, Melissa Mitchell of Connecticut, Jesse Kamineski of Swanville, Josh Kamineski and wife Trina of Texas, Katie Mitchell and Sammie Mitchell of Florida, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, his friends Joan and Howard Torrey, Tim and Karen Lanphier, and his special cat Jack. Carleton will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at the American Legion in Belfast on October 23rd, 2011 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers send donations to Cancer Care of Maine 33 Whiting Hill Road #21 Brewer, Maine 04412. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast.
