It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Leon Wyman at the age of 95. On 12/06/2011 Leon passed peacefully with his family at his side at Maine Veterans Home in Augusta. While in high school, Leon worked a full time job at a local Mill in Pittsfield to help support his family. After graduating, Leon worked at Pratt & Whitney in CT. He then returned to Maine and worked as a salesman which was a childhood dream. Leon enlisted into the Merchant Marines during World War II and was a firefighter aboard fuel tankers. Leon often gave rides to folks to AA meetings, his wisdom and friendship will live on in countless numbers of people. Leon’s friend’s called him “Repetitious Leon” a self appointed nick name as he recanted the same story of his sobriety over and over again as Leon would say “the years go by but my story remains the same”.
