Obituary of Charles H. Cochran
ROME -- Charles H. Cochran, 55, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012, at the VA Togus Hospital. He was born in Calais on Aug. 5, 1956 the son of Hiram O. and Carol M. (Spooner) Cochran of Augusta. Mr. Cochran was a graduate of Cony High School, an Eagle Scout, a United States Marine, and a 30-year union iron worker. He enjoyed all things to do with the outdoors, including fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and four wheeling. He was a caring person who has made many lifetime friends and always had a positive outlook on everything.
Charles was predeceased by his siste,r Linda A. (Cochran) Ayer; his grandparents; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was survived by his parents, Hiram and Carol Cochran; his wife ,Sandra M. (Paradis) Cochran, of Rome; a brother, Randal B. Cochran, and wife Bonney; a son, Dustin C. Cochran, and wife Jodi; a stepson, Jason L. Heald; a stepdaughter, Amy L. Heald; a granddaughter, Madison M. Cochran; a step-grandson, Hayden L. Thorne; several nieces; and his beloved dog Nanook.
There will be a memorial held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 6, at Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta. Following the memorial, friends and family are invited to celebrate Charlie's life at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 887, Leighton Road, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlie's name, may be made to VAVS Hospice Unit Volunteer Services Department of Veteran Affairsm c/o Charlie's Angelsm 1 VA Center, Augusta, ME 04330. Arrangements are under the direction of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast.
