Obituary of Virginia C. Williams

VIRGINIA C. WILLIAMS, 93 of Swanville, passed away May 20, 2012 at home with her daughters attending. She was born on January 12, 1919 in Seattle, Washington to Marcus and Irma (McGonagill) Moschetto. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Virginia was a teacher for 20 years, teaching in Seattle, Brentwood, New Hampshire and Panama C.Z. She home-schooled her two daughters for two years while sailing from York, Maine to the Canal Zone. After retiring from the Canal Zone in 1969, she and her husband, Ted, her daughter, Judy and her husband Dick Hale, sailed to the Galapagos Islands on their sailboat, then back to the States - Florida. She and her husband lived in Swanville for about 35 years. Virginia substitute taught for a few years. She and her daughter joined the Paddle and Chowder Canoe Club. She liked walking, gardening, raising sheep, making pottery, felt, watercolors, sailing and reading. Virginia is survived by her brother, Marcus Moschetto of Portland; her son Ralph H. Williams of Bozemon, Montana; her two daughters, Judy A. Hale of Surry and Donna R. Williams of Swanville; four grandchildren, Tom E. Hale of Bangor, Ted W. Hale of Castine, Libby Hanley of Bangor and Rae Ann Francis of Vancouver, Washington; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ted Williams. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
